Sane House Media Contributor Agreement
This Contributor Agreement (“Agreement”) is between Sane House Media LLC (“Sane House Media” or “SHM”) and the undersigned contributor (“Contributor”).
1. The Work

The “Work” means the original submission and any agreed edits or revisions prepared for Sane House Media.
2. Copyright and Rights Granted to Sane House Media
Contributor retains ownership of the copyright in the Work.
Contributor grants Sane House Media a worldwide, royalty-free license to publish, reproduce, distribute, display, translate, edit, archive, promote, syndicate, license, monetize, and otherwise use the Work in connection with Sane House Media and its publications.
This license is exclusive for the first 60 days after the Work is published by SHM. During that period, Contributor will not publish or authorize publication of the complete Work elsewhere.
After the 60-day exclusive period, the license becomes non-exclusive and continues indefinitely.
Sane House Media may also include the Work, in whole or in part, in future compilations, anthologies, books, eBooks, magazines, documentaries, or other print, digital, audio, audiovisual, or derivative works, and may sell, license, or otherwise distribute those works commercially.
AI and Model Training
Sane House Media will not sell or license the Work to a third party solely for the purpose of training an artificial intelligence or machine-learning model without Contributor’s prior written consent.
Contributor will not be entitled to additional payment or royalties from these uses unless SHM and Contributor separately agree otherwise in writing.
3. Contributor Portfolio and Self-Promotion
After the 60-day exclusive period, Contributor may republish or display the Work on a personal website, portfolio, Substack, or similar personal platform and may use it for professional self-promotion.
When doing so, Contributor agrees to identify Sane House Media as the original publisher, preferably using:
Originally published by Sane House Media.
Contributor may also mention, during the exclusive period, that the Work was published by SHM and provide a link to the SHM publication.
After the 60-day exclusive period, Contributor may sell, license, or republish the Work, provided that any such third-party grant is strictly non-exclusive and does not restrict Sane House Media’s perpetual rights to use, publish, monetize, license, distribute, or compile the Work.
4. Compensation
This is an unpaid contribution. Contributor understands that the consideration for the Work is publication, editorial support, professional attribution, exposure through the Sane House Media platform, and the rights provided under this Agreement.
No payment or royalties are owed unless separately agreed to in writing.
5. Editing and Attribution
Sane House Media may edit, proofread, format, title, shorten, restructure, or otherwise modify the Work as reasonably necessary for editorial quality, clarity, accuracy, style, length, or presentation, provided that SHM does not intentionally change the fundamental meaning of the Work or materially misrepresent Contributor’s views.
SHM will credit Contributor by name in the initial publication, ordinarily as:
Written by [Contributor Name]
SHM may determine the placement and formatting of the credit.
6. Publication and Reversion
Sane House Media does not guarantee publication and may determine when and where the Work is published.
If SHM accepts the Work for publication but does not publish it within 90 days of acceptance, Contributor may request in writing that the rights granted under this Agreement revert. If SHM does not publish the Work within 30 days after receiving that request, the rights granted under this Agreement will revert to Contributor.
Once the Work has been published, removal or discontinuation of the Work from SHM’s platforms does not terminate SHM’s continuing rights under this Agreement.
7. Contributor’s Representation
Contributor confirms that:
the Work is their original creation, except for material properly authorized for use;
they have the legal right to submit the Work to SHM and grant the rights described in this Agreement; and
to the best of their knowledge, the Work does not infringe the rights of another person or organization.
8. Agreement
By signing below, both parties confirm that they have read and understood this Agreement and agree to its terms.
